Spells that produce multiple projectiles per cast.

Summon Fly Swarm, Summon Firebug Swarm, and Summon Wasp Swarm are three static projectile spells that summon different kinds of flying bugs to your aid. The summoned creatures are very small, much smaller than regular Enemies, and attack foes by flying into them. When idle they hover on and around you.

Tips

  • Firebugs will set things Effect on fire.png On fire! on contact, except for Minä.
    • Fire Immunity perks do not prevent them from damaging you if you are affected by any kind of Effect polymorph.png Polymorph.
    • Firebugs can disappear earlier if they come in contact with water.
  • Swarms can be impacted by projectiles. This can help you defensively, by blocking an enemy's shots, but they may also block your own.
  • Swarms are affected by modifiers, just as other static projectiles.
    • With homing, they can deal damage every tick, achieving potentially thousands of DPS with only a homing modifier. However, this cannot be relied on as a main attack, as many enemy hitboxes allow the wasps to hover as close as possible without dealing damage.
  • Swarms can be used, in the same manner as Pollen, to create spell casting loops. However their higher hp (and greater number per cast) may be too effective when used with low-damage Piercing projectiles.
  • If used with a Larpa, the swarm will continuously spawn copies of itself for about five seconds.
  • Combined with Summon Hollow Egg you can use the Hollow Egg trick to make it home on enemies. The following build can shatter enemies by freezing them and dealing melee damage.

Multiple Projectiles

Some spells, including Summon Swarm, produce several projectiles per cast. This property produces some useful effects and synergies.

  • Modifiers that add damage will apply to all of the individual projectiles, multiplying their value.
  • The Arc modifier spells, particularly Electric Arc, work well since they are more effective when many projectiles are cast together.
