Gives a projectile a much lower cast delay, but no respect to your aim
Horizontal Path
Forces a projectile on a horizontal path, but increases its damage
Linear Arc
Makes a projectile fly only in cardinal or diagonal lines
Anti-Gravity
Applies a lifting force to a projectile
Gravity
Increases the effect gravity has on a projectile
Fly Downwards
Causes a projectile to aim straight downwards a short time after casting
Fly Upwards
Causes a projectile to aim straight upwards a short time after casting
Orbiting Arc
A projectile orbits the point of its origin
Phasing Arc
Makes a projectile fly much slower, but teleport short distances over its flight
Ping-Pong Path
Makes a projectile fly back and forth
Spiral Arc
A projectile flies in a spiralling pattern
True Orbit
Makes a projectile rotate around the caster like an orbiting planet
Chaotic Path
Causes a projectile to chaotically fly wherever it wishes
Slithering Path
Makes a projectile move rapidly in a slithering manner, like a snake
Avoiding Arc
Makes a projectile shy away from obstacles
Floating Arc
Makes a projectile float above the ground
Spells that alter the natural path of a projectile.
Heavy Spread is a modifier type spell which adds a huge amount of spread, causing the affected projectile to travel in a random direction.
While the primary effect is usually not desirable, the secondary effect of removing a significant amount of recharge time, and some cast delay (for almost no mana cost) makes this spell an easy route to a Rapid firing wand.
This modifier is commonly placed after a timer/trigger-spell - the trigger payload often benefits from a wide dispersal angle and if the trigger projectile hits an enemy the payload spawns on top of them regardless of the initial trajectory. Splitting a wand into two casts, and then wrapping into Heavy Spread can let you get .5s recharge time reduction per modifier.
Heavy Spread can be used to speed up casting of spells in melee range where direction is irrelevant, such as the Dropper Bolt, Chainsaw or Digging Bolt.
If this modifier is impractical, remember that you can bypass casting delay penalties completely by setting spells after a Trigger.
It can be used as a substitute for Formation - Hexagon to cause spells after a Trigger to burst in random directions.
You can benefit from the recharge time reduction (but not cast delay reduction) without introducing difficulties aiming by:
Adding this spell to the payload of a trigger; this will not interfere with aiming the trigger spell, though the payload projectile(s) may travel in unwanted directions.
Adding this followed by a spell with 0 uses left at the end of the wand as its own cast (don't multicast into it); casts like this with zero projectiles do not incur cast delay.
Heavy Spread can be paired with certain spells that are unaffected by spread modifications, such as Dynamite.
Heavy Spread used inside a Spark Bolt With Trigger. The Spark Bolt flies true in the direction you point, but the payload of Spitter Bolts are fired in random directions upon impact. This can help you hit multiple enemies per shot, and offsets a large amount of recharge time.
This is a similar trick to that used to get Add Mana twice (and has the same disadvantage that it halves your maximum theoretical firing rate), but if you have a wand with a lot of recharge time it may be better to rapid fire at 30 casts per second than wait a second between casts. (Of note, in this build the wrap is inside the trigger, meaning that the Chainsaw also ends up inside. This is good for damage, but you don't get the cast delay reducing effect of the Chainsaw if it is in the payload).
