Static projectile spells that conjure a small field of magic with varying properties.

Circle of Stillness is a static projectile spell that conjures an icy-white magical field that extinguishes fires, freezes many liquid materials, and incapacitates most enemies (excepting those with immunity). Once frozen, enemies can be killed in one shot from a physical attack, like a kick or Tentacle swipe.

The field takes a few seconds to grow to its full size of 72 pixels (around three times the size of the visible effect). It freezes as it expands out from the centre, and once at full size only the outer edge continues to freeze materials.

By default the field does not have friendly-fire and is safe to use, but be wary of becoming encased in frozen material. Maximum lifetime is capped to 2 minutes, and cannot be extended using Increase Lifetime or similar modifiers, but you can reduce the duration as usual with Nolla or Reduce Lifetime.

This spell is limited to 15 charges, but this limit is removed by the Unlimited Spells perk.

Tips

  • The field can be made to follow you with the Boomerang modifier spell, making any enemy approaching you an easy target.
    • When in motion, the material freezing effect moves with the outer radius of the field, which can be used to freeze large volumes of liquid.
  • This can be used to net an easy kill on Stevari, by casting this spell such that you essentially spawncamp him.
  • Lava will harden into Rock in the presence of the field. Beware though, the solidified lava will quickly melt again once the field expires.
  • Be careful when using this while submerged in liquids, like water, as you can become stuck inside ice.
  • By combining Circle of Stillness with Circle of Water or Circle of Acid you can contain the effects to the radius of Stillness - creating an instant bubble of ice (with liquid inside).
  • The frozen shell of liquid can be used as a mold for casting cement.

Freezing Materials

Only the outer edge of the circle freezes materials - once fully expanded any new material created within remains liquid. Many materials (notably, Lava) will melt again once the field expires. The following materials can be frozen.
