A group of spells designed to copy other spells and effects. Ignores both mana drain and charges of copied spells, and are unlocked by killing Ylialkemisti.

Tau is an Other type spell that casts a copy of the two spells directly after (to the right of) it in a wand. Tau, like its counterparts, is a rare late-game spell that is unlocked by killing Ylialkemisti.

Tips

• Like Gamma and Omega, Tau is very useful for copying valuable limited charge spells like Black Hole that aren't affected by the Unlimited Spells perk, effectively making them unlimited regardless.
• Tau is very useful in combination with Divide By.

Example

Here's an example of Tau used in a mid-game travel wand, with the capability to tunnel through anything and heal you at the same time. Gamma is used to copy Tau, which saves mana.

Tinker

• Long-Distance Cast, an invisible and very fast projectile that travels through walls and casts a trigger when it expires, is being multicast with the Chainsaw at the end (to mitigate cast delay).
• When the Long Distance Cast expires, some distance away from you, Gamma is cast.
• Gamma copies Tau, which copies the 0-charge Black Hole with Expiration Trigger and Circle of Vigour.
  • Both have Nolla applied, so last only for two frames, but that is enough for you to get the healing effect, and a hole.
• The Black Hole dies after 2 frames and its expiration trigger fires.
  • The next two spells (the actual Black Hole and Circle of Vigour) have no charges and so are skipped.
• Nolla + Return fires after 2 frames, attempting to teleport you into the space newly cleared by the Black Hole.
