The End of Everything

The End of Everything is a spell found inside a steel chest within the Robotic Egg. For details on finding/unlocking it, see Broken Spell and Summon Portal. Once it is unlocked, it can additionally spawn in The Work (Sky), The Work (Hell), the hidden eye room reachable from the Hiisi Base, and randomly from Treasure Chest drops. The spell itself bears the alchemical symbol for the philosopher's stone.

Upon being cast, it will summon a series of 13 chaotic and destructive effects, titled by one of the possible names of the Sampo. Each effect will last for 5 seconds, and continuous effects trigger every 0.5 second. The corresponding name will be displayed on-screen as each effect is invoked. The effects start from your position at the start of the previous stage, so running away after casting this spell is not a viable strategy.

The final effect will reward you with a Great Treasure Chest that may contain rare Materials and Items as well as multiple Extra Max Health pickups. Note that the coordinates for this chest are based on where you are when the final effect triggers, not where the spell is originally cast.

Tips

  • Certain Runestones (if kept intact), Explosive Detonator, Projectile Transmutation Field, Projectile Thunder Field,"Spells to Spells"-type spells, and projectile Shields (Energy Shields and Permanent Shield) are some useful tools for dealing with some of the projectiles generated.
  • Summon Platform, Summon Wall and Water Trail with Freeze Charge can block dangerous materials and explosions.
  • When multicast with other projectiles, the projectiles after this spell will not be loaded.
  • When cast independently, the wand evaluation will consider it with no valid projectile since it does not use add_projectile. This will cause the wand to ignore its cast delay which will immediately do next casting. However, recharge time is applied, mana and uses are consumed.
  • The polymorph projectiles from the celestial ruby effect go through Circle of Shielding but bounce off of Permanent Shield, Energy Shield and Energy Shield Sector.
  • The position around which the spells are generated is updated at the beginning of each stage to be your location, unless you are polymorphed. Moving far away once and polymorphing yourself, or moving far away at the beginning of each stage, can remove dangers of some stages. However, moving too far away (e.g., far enough to avoid Sampo stage nukes) can also unload this position and pause The End of Everything until you get closer again. Areas around certain entities such as Kolmisilmä are kept loaded; starting The End of Everything moving farther away and polymorphing before the next stage is possible, though these areas will still experience destruction and contain hazards in the aftermath.
