Gravity is a modifier type spell that increases the gravitational pull on a projectile - typically making them accelerate downwards until reaching Terminal Velocity. The effect works regardless of initial projectile speed, and many typically stationary projectiles can be prompted into motion using this modifier.

Materials

Unusually for a modifier spell, Gravity affects Water and other single-drop Material spells, causing the droplets of created material to fall more rapidly until they hit something, where they resume normal behaviour.

Speed Scaling

Since acceleration due to gravity is independent of projectile starting speed, this modifier can be of great use in making wands that take full advantage of the Speed Scaling bonus effect.

Maximum effect from Speed Scaling bonus comes when a projectile starts with as low a starting velocity as possible, and then accelerates to its' maximum speed before striking an enemy. However, all projectiles that benefit from this bonus die if their velocity drops below a threshold, making it tricky to precisely manipulate their starting speed for best effect. Adding a single copy of Gravity provides enough acceleration during the first frame of Bouncing Burst's life to raise its speed just above the minimum, so any amount of speed reduction (e.g. Heavy Shot) can be applied.
