Random Damage is a projectile modifier spell that either adds or removes a random amount of damage (in a set interval) to a projectile.

Tips

  • Damage under 0 does not heal enemies nor yourself.
  • The average amount provided by this modifier is positive (+5 damage or more on average, depending on the projectile).
  • When one Random Damage is applied to projectiles with 0 projectile-type damage, such as Chainsaw and Digging Bolt, the damage provided is +25 on average. (2.5x that of Damage Plus, for 3x the mana.)
  • This spell adds/subtracts recoil and and gore/bloodspray proportional to the damage added/subtracted.
  • Multiple copies of Random Damage in the same cast will all add/subtract the same amount of damage.
    • E.g., ten Random Damage multipliers on a Chainsaw will provide +250 damage on average, but still be highly variable.
  • Synergizes with fast-firing wands that quickly get past any "duds", reducing the variance in damage dealt over a fixed period of time.
