Fly Upwards

Fly Upwards is a projectile modifier that locks a spell's trajectory to be solely upwards after a short duration of time. This will resist further movement also.

Tips

  • Can be used with Horizontal Path to lock a projectile in place, preventing it from moving at all.
  • This makes Summon Giga Disc Projectile more safe to use when activated with a trigger at range, as the disc will fly into the ceiling if it misses instead of coming back towards you.
  • When the projectile starts to fly upward (after about a third of a second), it does so at twice its speed beforehand. Stacking more of the modifier will increase the speed exponentially, up to a projectile-specific speed cap (with few exceptions). (If a sufficiently large speed modification is applied within a single frame, the speed will be set to zero or "not a number" (NaN) rather than the normal speed cap for that projectile.)
  • Additionally multiplies the speed multiplier for the current shot by 1.2, without applying the typical cap of 20x or 0x on this speed multiplier. For a limited number of projectiles where 20x does not reach the built-in speed cap of the projectile, this enables reaching that speed cap immediately without the 2x speed multiplications when the turn upward takes effect or use of modifiers like Accelerating Shot.
  • Tentacle physics do not have a speed cap, unlike other projectiles, allowing for placement of spells in far-off chunks using its timer variant and these speed multiplications.
  • With enough modifiers applied to Circle of Fervour or similar spells, or to Expiration Triggers holding them as payloads, these circles will be deployed at NaN ("not a number") coordinates due to reaching "infinite" speed. Fields at these locations behave strangely, applying some or all of their built-in effects and modifiers to all enemies or even other entities, without a limit on the range.[1]
  • Divide By 2 Divide By 10 Fly Upwards Summon Rock will cause the rock to rapidly alternate between two positions and delete or absorb liquids it encounters.
