Spells that trail
These modifiers all add a matter generating effect to projectiles that they are multicast with. This can produce a surprising amount of material with slow, long-lived projectiles.
Fire Trail is a projectile modifier that creates a stream of falling fire as it goes, lighting anything flammable underneath the flight path on fire.
Tips
- As fire is fairly easily extinguished by most many liquids, notably splashed blood from enemies, this modifier can be more dangerous to you than your foes if you don't have the Fire Immunity or Oil Blood perk.
- That said, enemies lit on fire will run around in panic and cannot attack you. Just keep in mind that robots will not burn.
- Enemies have a chance to be ignited ranging from 0% to 100%. Each fire trail will have a chance to succeed in this, meaning multiple copies will help.
- When cast together with Critical on Burning and a projectile, if the trail succeeded on setting the target on fire, the projectile will always critical hit.
Trivia
Allegedly, fire trail works by leaving a mostly burning trail of oil which can actually soak you. However it should be said that fire is technically a liquid in game terms, and can be frozen into powder pixels. Additionally, a pool of fire will, for some reason, conduct electricity whereas oil will not.
