Projectile Orbit Spells
Modifiers that add orbiting projectiles to a spell. They cut through both terrain and enemies and only disappear when its host projectile expires or on direct impact with an enemy.
Plasma Spells
Spells that emit deadly beams of light.
Plasma Beam Orbit is a projectile modifier spell that adds 4 rotating plasma beams to a projectile. The beams have no effect on the terrain, they only do damage to creatures. Unlike other orbit spells, the orbiting beams are placed directly on the projectile, and they do not disappear on contact.
Tips
- If multiple Orbits of the same or different types are placed, only the first Orbit of the spell block will work, and its effect will be multiplied by the number of Orbits.
- This spell commonly hurts you when cast, even when standing still. There are a few ways to prevent this.
- Placing it at the end of a trigger.
- Pairing it with Long-Distance Cast.
- Placing it on Tentacle.
- Pairing it with a positive speed modifier.
- Decelerating Shot is particularly good with this, as it speeds up the projectile at first so it doesn't hurt you, but slows it down later so it has more time to damage enemies. This only works to avoid damage if you're using a fast projectile though.
- If you happen to find this spell early, Pollen is a fantastic carrier that's even moderately effective against Stevari, with two caveats:
- Best placed on the end of a trigger to avoid self-damage.
- Only one plasma-emitting Pollen tends to survive in a given vicinity, as they destroy each other.
- Putting this modifier on any mist spell will greatly reduce its risk to you, as the mist will block most of the beam before it can escape.
