Larpa Modifiers
Spell modifiers that cause projectiles to throw out duplicates of themselves.
Chaos Larpa is a Modifier type spell that causes affected projectiles to duplicate themselves as they move, flinging the copies at high speed in random directions. Duplication occurs every 10 frames, and the effect lasts for the lifetime of the projectile (which this modifier limits to an absolute maximum of 300 frames). Copies are of the original, unmodified projectle, making this an ideal modification for use with high cost/high damage spells.
Tips
- This spell limits the lifetime of the projectiles it modifies to a maximum of 300 frames (5 seconds).
- Only the initial projectile gets limited lifetime, the copies are unaffected.
- Null Shot and/or True Orbit are highly effective when used with Larpa modifiers, the lifetime increase (and reduction in damage) is applied only to the original projectile, which then has plenty of time to produce lots of damaging copies of itself.
- You can use this modifier to create copies of Healing Bolt projectiles that won't damage you, even if the original would.
- Causes a lot of damage when used with Magic Missile or other explosive spells.
Trivia
- Larpa is a reference to Liero, a 1998 Finnish MS-DOS game that has been cited as inspiration for Noita. In Liero, Larpa is a projectile weapon that shoots a missile that then drops bullets as it travels through the air. Wikipedia says of Liero, "The game has been described as a real-time version of Worms […]"
