Holy Lance is a projectile type spell that is one of two spells that inflict Holy Damage Holy damage, the other being SPOILER: Omega White Hole , in addition to a respectable explosive effect. The projectile resembles an ornate, golden arrow, and travels in a slow, arcing trajectory. Beware, this projectile has Friendly Fire enabled, and can be as deadly to you as to your foes.

While this can be considered a more powerful version of Glowing Lance - with a similarly long lifetime (up to 5 seconds) - it lacks Glowing Lance's ability to fly through powder materials. Instead, Holy Lance can penetrate entities - meaning it can hit more than one target (but only once per target). It is relatively slow-moving, and has no minimum speed and so won't die if it becomes stationary in mid-air.

These qualities make it an ideal projectile to use for constructing Trigger Loops, and the fixed lifetime makes it easy to turn into a infinite lifetime wisp.

Tips

  • Holy Damage Holy damage is extremely useful as most enemies (including bosses) lack immunity to it.
  • Extremely dangerous to player since it has friendly fire.
  • Quantum Split can make it easier to deal damage with its explosion, as the red and blue copies will have the built-in entity penetrating effect removed, allowing them to detonate on impact.
  • A single copy of Explosive Projectile or Clusterbolt is enough to boost the Explosion Damage Explosion done by Holy Lance to 325.
  • This spell can penetrate entities (meaning it won't die on collision with them) but does not have a piercing effect. This means damage is dealt only once (any attached trigger will fire only once) per entity.
  • Combining with Aiming Arc (or Circle of Buoyancy) gives fine control over the slow-moving projectile's path.
