Lightning Bolt is a relatively short range spell that causes very large amounts of electric and explosion damage. Both immunities are required to fully prevent damage to yourself.

Tips

  • Speed Up, Increase Duration, and Decelerating Shot will improve the range of the Spell. The Slithering Path modifier also increases the range, but causes the spell to always fire at a downward angle.
  • Conversely, Heavy Shot will reduce the range significantly.
  • Very effective against Stevari since it can pierce projectile shields.
  • Trigger or Timer spells can be used to deliver the lightning bolt to a safer distance. This will also bypass the additional cast delay, allowing for a deadly rapid fire ranged attack.
  • Take great care when using this spell without the protective perks to guard against its effects. It is extremely easy to kill yourself with it, especially in the Hiisi Base and The Vault, which consist mostly of steel walls
  • Wands that contain electric-based spells in one of their slots will be electrified, shocking you if you stay submerged in liquid for more than a couple of seconds with the wand equipped.
  • Orbiting Arc modifier surprisingly removes homing and distance limit. This turns lightning bolt into infinite range bass-cannon.
  • Remove Explosion modifier can't remove its explosion.
