Holy Bomb
Holy Bomb is a larger, holier, and vastly more powerful version of the Bomb spell. The projectile (which resembles a golden hand grenade) is dropped at the location it is cast - making a swift retreat in the three seconds you have before detonation is advisable.
The bomb is made out of the Holy Matter material, remnants of which can sometimes be left behind after detonation. Similar to the Nuke there are two variants, regular and Giga. Both require unlocking before they will appear regularly in game. Despite their name these bombs inflict Explosion damage, rather than Holy damage. The usage limit is removed by the Unlimited Spells perk.
Giga Holy Bomb
Giga Holy Bomb is a more powerful version of the Holy Bomb spell. It creates a slightly larger version of the same grenade-shaped bomb, which deals more damage over a wider area. It also has an additional effect similar to Earthquake Shot of fracturing and collapsing the material above you, which can be very deadly. This version is not affected by the Unlimited Spells perk.
Tips
- Holy bomb can destroy Steel and Extremely Dense Rock, but for Brickwork or Cursed Rock you'll need the Giga version.
- Take great care when using it. The Explosion Immunity or Exploding Corpses perks are recommended.
- The projectile entity is affected by gravity and will roll downhill.
- With the Bombs Materialized perk, Holy Bombs can be held and used directly from item slots.
- If you can't count to three, you can use with Nolla for instant destruction.
Trivia
- Of all the spells in Noita, Giga Holy Bomb has both the highest mana drain (tied with The End of Everything) and highest Explosion damage (tied with Giga Nuke)
- This spell is a reference to the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch from Monty Python and the Holy Grail[1]. This is confirmed by the text found on Emerald Tablet V, which is a direct quote from the film[2]:
