Clusterbolt

Clusterbolt is a projectile modifier spell which, on impact with terrain, causes affected projectiles to release 8 secondary explosive charges in a star-shaped pattern. Similarly to Explosive Projectile, the explosion radius is also increased - potentially granting significant bonus damage.
Mechanics
Gives affected spells an extra entity that will spawn 8 explosive projectiles from the spell when it expires, as long as its speed is under 50 at the moment. This condition is usually fulfilled when colliding with the world, but for example Decelerating Shot can reduce any spell's speed enough to spawn the explosives without needing to collide.
Each of the 8 explosives deals:
- 17.5 Projectile damage
- 7.5 Fire damage
- 12.5 Explosion damage, 12 radius
Tips
- The created Clusterbolts can damage you.
- A single copy of Clusterbolt combined with Holy Lance will produce 325 Explosion damage.
- Spells with low speed such as Chainsaw, Digging Bolt, Chain Bolt can trigger the explosives without hitting the world.
- Avoid shooting this at a close range or top of you.
- When used with certain spells that do not explode by default, such as Summon Hollow Egg[1] or Luminous Drill, it will use the default explosion damage value of 125, increased by the modifier itself to 130. Note that these explosions can hurt you. A list of these spells can be found here, and a detailed explanation of these mechanics can be found here.
- Unlike most spells, Summon Egg and Summon Hollow Egg do not spawn clusterbolts upon slowing down or hitting a wall. The lack of projectiles means this can be used safely with Explosion and Fire Immunity as a weaker form of the Explosive Projectile Egg combo.

Notes
- ↑ While the egg spells technically do explode already, the config_explosion component is defined in ExplodeOnDamageComponent rather than the ProjectileComponent used by Explosive Projectile and Clusterbolt, so these modifiers see the default values as a base value regardless.
