Biomes
Biomes are distinct regions within Noita, each containing a specific set of creatures, objects, and terrain features of varying rarity. Many biomes are subject to an occasional randomized Biome modifier, and some have a default. These modifiers may add unusual effects or features to the biome such as projectile deceleration or flooding.
Basic gameplay leads you down through a stack of 8 biomes called the Main Path, each separated by a Holy Mountain. Many biomes branch off to other "side biomes" to explore which may provide unique benefits such as an abundance of valuable items or more powerful wands.

Trivia
- The Biomes are pseudorandomly generated via a combination of "Wang tiles" and "Pixel scenes". See World generation for details.
- The normal world is 35,840 pixels wide.
- Many parts of the map are separated by a thick layer of Dense Rock and Extremely Dense Rock making it hard to get through, however methods can make tunneling easier, such as using the Black Hole spell, or many other fast digging spells, or devious methods such as dousing oneself in Chaotic Polymorphine and using a worm transformation.
- Two types of Glyphs can be found scattered throughout the world, which can be deciphered and translated into many different pieces of extensive Game Lore. Some initial details were captured in 2019 by FuryForged in his video "The hidden lore glyphs of Noita (early access)", along with dozens of further videos detailing his explorations.

Death visualizer
Each player death is recorded, and can be mapped in the world. This process has been simplified through a local, browser-based tool.
