The Sky Temples are four large Brickwork structures, floating above the Surface. Each one of them has an unique name, layout, and ambience, along with holding questlines.

From left to right, the different Temples are Barren Temple, Spirit Temple, Ominous Temple and Kivi Temple.

Barren Temple

Barren Temple

The Barren Temple stands above the Snowy Wasteland. It is a single small island, covered with a roof-like structure and a short pedestal with a grass-like glyph upon it. A constant droning hum is heard while the player is at this place.

On the left and in the leftmost part of its surface, although covered by ice, there are entrances to a hallway-like interior with a shallow pool, containing a dormant Potion mimic (which adds a thrumming to the ambience) while active and a Book, reading:

Those who attain the fruit of the House above the Triadic Tomb shall hold this truth:
The Holiest Ground is most fertile when touched by Our Water.

Charming the Potion Mimic with Pheromone will allow it to be picked up, acting as a potion full of Mimicium, which is necessary for the Henkevä Temple's puzzle.

Additionally, casting Touch of Grass on the grass glyph will turn the temple's surface into Divine Ground without harming the player, and spawn the Cessation spell.

Henkevä Temple

Henkevä Temple

The Henkevä Temple (listen Audio.svg) (or Spirit Temple) stands above the Giant Tree. It is a massive island - the largest by far - also with a roof-like structure, along with winding tunnels littered with piles of sand that connect to the main room at its center. Twelve dormant Potion Mimics imitating empty Potions are also scattered throughout the Temple.

Inside the main room, there is a glyph depicting ten potions arranged in a triangle, surrounded by hearts. By pouring any amount of Mimicium into a Potion Mimic and therefore reanimating it, one potion in the glyph will light up. Awakening at least ten of them will spawn the Sea of Mimicium spell.

Additionally, the leftmost tunnel in the Temple will always spawn a pool of Pheromone, which can be bottled for the Barren Temple quest.

Pouring Mimicium into one of the Potion Mimics.
Reviving at least 10 will reward you with Sea of Mimicium.

Ominous Temple

Ominous Temple

The Ominous Temple stands above the Pond. It is an island with a well full of water at the top and a shaft at its bottom, both which lead to its interior - a symmetrical structure of tight staircases and a large, empty pool with a wave pattern at its edge and a small puddle of Ominous Liquid.

By filling the pool up to its border with Ominous Liquid, through Sea of Mimicium or otherwise, will spawn a chest containing Touch of Grass, unlocking it for subsequent runs.

Along with its main purpose, the left edge of the temple itself contains a small cavern holding a flask of Milk.

The upper part of the temple is filled with water along with ten Fish. This could suggest The Pond below was filled from the water of the temple with it's fishes since the temple have a liquid evacuation convenient shape.

Spawning the chest with Ominous Liquid does trigger permanently a creepy soundtrack. Using Sea of Mimicium in the area can also triggers for a few seconds the same soundtrack.

Parallel worlds temples does not have the wave background hints, nor the special soundtrack, nor the chest spawning system.

Kivi Temple

Main article: Kivi
Kivi Temple

The Kivi Temple stands above the Giant Skull. It is an island with a single vertical shaft, leading to a small room that holds the Kivi Boss.

The Kivi is harmless by itself, simply jumping and rolling around the player. However, hurting it will deal Holy Damage Holy damage in proportion to the percentage of HP taken.

On the right side of the island, there is a small cavern containing a Beer potion. This is the only sky temple that isn't part of the Sky Temple questline.

The Kivi simply rolls around the player.
It forces the player's health percentage to mirror its own. On death, spawns three Kummitus.

Trivia

  • The Adept Note is referring to an alchemic reaction between Urine and Divine Ground: by (most likely) using Touch of Gold? on a surface (with a trigger so as not to turn oneself into urine) and Touch of Grass next to it will make the Divine Ground react with the urine, creating Healium gas, which can be an unorthodox yet very effective method of healing.
  • The Ominous and Henkevä temples are some of the safest shops in Hell and The Sky, having no enemy spawns and an abundance of spells.
