Sky Temples

The Sky Temples are four large Brickwork structures, floating above the Surface. Each one of them has an unique name, layout, and ambience, along with holding questlines.

From left to right, the different Temples are Barren Temple, Spirit Temple, Ominous Temple and Kivi Temple.

Barren Temple

The Barren Temple stands above the Snowy Wasteland. It is a single island with a roof-like structure and a small hallway-like interior, containing a Potion mimic and a book.

Adept's Note

Those who attain the fruit of the House above the Triadic Tomb shall hold this truth:
The Holiest Ground is most fertile when touched by Our Water.

At the the surface of the island, there is a pedestal with a Grass-like glyph on it.

SPOILER: Charming the Potion Mimic with Pheromone will allow it to be picked up, acting as a potion full of Mimicium. This being important for the Spirit Temple quest.

SPOILER: Casting Touch of Grass on the glyph will turn the temple's surface into Divine Ground without harming the player, and spawn the Cessation spell.

Henkevä Temple

The Henkevä Temple (listen Audio.svg) (or Spirit Temple) stands above the Giant Tree. It is a massive island, also with a roof-like structure, winding tunnels, piles of sand, a main room at its center, and a small cavern containing a pool of Pheromone. Twelve dormant Potion Mimics imitating empty potions are scattered throughout the island.

At the main room there is a glyph depicting ten potions arranged in a triangle, with hearts surrounding them.

SPOILER: Pouring any amount of Mimicium on the Potion Mimics will awaken them, lighting up the potions in the glyph per Potion Mimic. Awakening all ten of them will spawn the Sea of Mimicium spell.

Ominous Temple

The Ominous Temple stands above the Pond.

It is most likely the first sky temple players may discover, as it is hinted at with the Watchtower. It's interior is a symmetrical structure of tight hallways with a main atrium and a T-shaped water tunnel with fish in it. The atrium contains a small puddle of Ominous Liquid, and on the left edge of the temple itself lies a small cavern with a flask of Milk. SPOILER: The Ominous Temple is used in the Sky Temples to unlock the Touch of Grass spell: by using Sea of Mimicium to fill the main atrium with Ominous Liquid, a chest will spawn, granting the player Touch of Grass.

Ominous Temple

Kivi Temple

The Kivi Temple stands above the Giant Skull. It is an island with a single vertical shaft, leading to a small room that holds the Kivi.

On the right side of the island, there is a small cavern containing a Beer potion. This is the only sky temple that isn't part of the Sky Temple questline.

Trivia

  • The Adept Note is referring to an alchemic reaction between Urine and Divine Ground: by (most likely) using Touch of Gold? on a surface (with a trigger so as not to turn oneself into urine) and Touch of Grass next to it will make the Divine Ground react with the urine, creating Healium gas, which can be an unorthodox yet very effective method of healing.
  • The Adept Note also refers to the three Sky Temples as the "Triadic Tomb", suggesting they might be a burial site of a great figure.
  • The Ominous and Henkevä temples now replace the main shops in Hell and The Sky.
