Brass
Brass is a brown-yellow metallic powder material found throughout the game, which can be melted into Molten Brass by Liquid Fire or Lava.
Characteristics
In its normal state, brass behaves as an inedible solid metal powder which will block the movement of you and most other creatures, as well as explosions and projectiles. It can be stood on, although falling piles of brass can quickly engulf anything that happens to be falling alongside it or previously standing on top of it.
Molten
In its molten state, Molten Brass behaves very similar to most other molten metals. It becomes more conductive and more generally hazardous. Contact with molten brass will set any combustible creature On fire!. However, it is not sufficiently hot to catch alight any other materials in the vicinity, nor melt other metals.
Molten brass can be returned to its solid form by applying Water or any cold materials. However, it is not possible to freeze molten brass with spells or modifiers like Freezing Gaze or Freeze Charge. Molten brass can be frozen into Rock by the Vuoksikivi or transmuted into Excrement by the Kakkakikkare.
Sources
- Brass is a very common material in the Power Plant biome, where it will frequently occur in immense piles.
- Enemies with gun-like weaponry create small amounts during combat, the discarded shell casings of their various firearms. This includes many types of Hiisi as well as many robotic enemies, such as turrets.
- Molten Brass is only formed when Brass is in the presence of Lava or Liquid Fire.
- A Powder Pouch has a 10.7% chance of being Brass.
- Very rare chance of obtaining Brass or Molten Brass as a random material potion from a Treasure Chest or Great Treasure Chest.
Trivia
- In earlier versions of the game, solid Brass behaved similarly to Fungus, in that it did not block creature or projectile movement while still occupying space in the world and preventing any less-dense liquids and powders from falling through it. This has since been changed, and Brass now behaves more like Copper.
