Recoil mitigation
Some Spells set recoil to a specific value, rather than adding or subtracting an amount from the accumulated total. These can be used to greatly reduce recoil, or (with modifiers that reduce recoil, e.g. Recoil Damper) remove it entirely.
Used alone, the best spell for this is Energy Sphere, as it is cheap, common, sets recoil to the lowest amount and is otherwise safe to use. Arrow, Disc Projectile, and Glowing Lance are all capable of hurting you, and Expanding Sphere is significantly higher in mana cost.
When used with Recoil Damper any spell which sets recoil will work, as they all set it to under the 200 Recoil Damper reduces by. Remember though, the recoil setting spell must come after any spells that add recoil, and before Recoil Damper (or other spells that remove recoil).
