Robin is a character introduced in Graham's Things. They can mainly be learned about via their books that can be found throughout the world. They sign off their books with Robin, the scholar, and document their findings in the fields of alchemy and magic for the purpose of "preservation of technology old and new". They are said to be restless when not adventuring, and obsessively curious, sometimes to a harmful degree.

Robin's Books

With one exception, placing one of Robin's books on the mountain altar will exchange it for Gold powder, same as an Emerald Tablet. The books can also be thrown at enemies to deal damage, though this may prove difficult due to their small size.

Ancient Alchemy

This book is found in a special structure embedded in the Extremely Dense Rock on the top-left of the Underground Jungle.

The "strange orange liquid" that it refers to is Transmutatium.

Ancient Alchemy

All scholars have work that they abandon.

Many materials are merely lost to time due to lack of interest.

That strange orange liquid, intoxicating to the touch... Where did it come from?

Made from pain and confusion and toxic waste, it seems to be full of potential.

It can convert diamond to gold, or snow to that which is pure.

It seems even whiskey and vomit have a purpose with this remarkable liquid.

Even the Gods' Brickwork and our Guns' bullets are overtaken by such a material.

But as with all things which seem to have potential...

Fire consumes it all the same.

I suppose all of us have our weaknesses.

Invasive Chemicals

This book is found on top of the Pyramid, directly next to the Orb of True Knowledge.

It refers to the Effect berserk.png Berserk and Effect nightvision.png Wormy vision status effects, as well as the recipes to make Coffee, Hellblood, and Creepy Polymorphine.

Invasive Chemicals

Certain magical liquids can take over one's body and make them do horrible things they otherwise would not.

Many have been killed by those they trust due to Berserkium's malicious magic.

Worm blood is often ingested intentionally to help with the sight of its bearer.

Combined with sand, one can make a delightful delicacy.

Berserkium can also be combined with corpses to make a beverage straight from Hell itself.

And, of course, fungus can cause strange effects, especially when combined with polymorphine...

Book of the Lost Arts

This book is found next to the Hiisi Base's anvil.

It can be reforged into the Book of the Found Arts.

Book of the Lost Arts

The preservation of technology is an important art, that relatively few seem to practice.

We mortals are fallible things, and memories go forgotten over time more often than not.

Therefore, I shall do my part in the preservation of technology old and new. But where to begin...?

Ah. Our Gods, and their gifts to us... some have been lost over time. Why or how or when, it is all unknown.

Perhaps these gifts, and their associated magicks, can be rediscovered somehow.

Tributes to the gods, in the form of feats to accomplish... Yes, I am certain this will work.

Dear reader, stay with me a moment longer. These gifts may be unearthed yet.

- Robin, the scholar

Book of the Found Arts

This book is the reforged version of the Book of the Found Arts.

It refers to the seven unlockable perks and the methods of unlocking them.

Book of the Found Arts

I've found it! The Gods have answered my prayers, and they've told me what I must do...

However, I lack the power to do so myself, and their hints are undecipherable to me. Ahem...

'Find yourself immune to the wizards that render their foes helpless.'

'Accept 3 Gifts from the Gods that provide no permanent benefit.'

'Live on the bleeding edge of death, and defeat foes while doing so.'

'Venture into the most ominous cave in this Land, and seek True Knowledge within.'

'Find and use one of the lost Experimental Wands.'

And, finally... 'Travel to the center of the lost cube of Water.'

I couldn't know what these hints mean. But, perhaps...

Someone far in the future will discover my notes, and unlock this potential themselves.

Comfort

This book can be found on the floating island special structure.

It refers to Minty Marsh's sweet, minty flavor, and Robin's insatiability for adventure.

Comfort

Oh, what a cozy little place! This liquid feels cool to the touch, but pleasantly so, almost like mint.

I had a small taste... It's good. Very good.

I'm half-tempted to settle down here... but, no. My exploration must continue.

I'll bottle some of this liquid for later, and leave the rest for someone else.

...Will anyone else be alive to find it?

- Robin, the scholar

Insatiability

This book can be found next to the Orb of True Knowledge in the Lukki Lair.

Taking this book to the Mountain Altar will, instead of exchanging it for gold like the other books, turn the book into Hunger and unlock the Demise perk.

Insatiability

And, lo! The spell is cast, history prewritten rewritten.

These damned spiders with the thousands of teeth... their hunger insatiable, unless...?

I pacified them for my own survival, using a spell taught to me long ago.

However, such a force cannot be created or destroyed... only moved, redeveloped.

I have sealed their willpower in this very book. Such a power could be devastating or divine.

I leave that fate up to the Gods, or to you, curious reader...?

Perhaps the Gods would enjoy this tribute of willpower as a gift...?

- Robin, the scholar

Novelty

This book can only be found as a rare drop from a Mini Treasure Chest.

It refers to Mimics, and possibly the Bloody Mimic or Mini Mimic.

Novelty

I had been storing items in my treasure chest... Gold, potions, food...

I turned away, and heard a nasty chomp noise from behind me...

I swear I saw... teeth. And, when I opened the chest again... all the food was gone.

Is there something living in my storage? Or is it the chest itself...?

Futility

This book can be found in the Underground Jungle, embedded in the ceiling on the right side of the biome.

It hints at the Lukki Quest.

Futility

A little spider has been trapped inside of this egg for some time now... I fear it may be too weak to hatch.

I tried cracking it with my hands, and a rock, and other things...

but I fear the little friend inside would get shaken up too much if I did.

I would go to the Gods for help, but... they do not seem to favour me lately.

Dear reader... if you find this book, may you ask our Gods for help?

Even if it's just a little spider... it hurts to see it stuck like this. Don't you feel the same?

- Robin, the scholar

Trivia

  • Robin's gender has intentionally been left ambiguous, to allow the player to develop their own interpretation.
  • The Lost Treasure Chest may have some correlation with Robin, given the extent to which Robin has explored the world and the fact that Robin's Home has both a Lost and a Mini Treasure Chest inside.
