Effects
Has a 50% chance to kill the player by spawning a Touch of Gold on top of them. Otherwise, spawns a Great Treasure Chest.

Life Lottery is a one-off Perk that only shows up once; in the middle of The Gold biome above the Essence of Earth.

When picked up, it rolls a number between 1 and 6. If this number is less than 4, it spawns a Touch of Gold on the player, usually causing an instant game over. Otherwise, it spawns a Great Treasure Chest.

Notes

• Since the Touch of Gold spawned by the perk acts as if the player cast it themselves, it can be blocked with Ambrosia or enough stacks of Stainless Armour.
• Extra Life or Saving Grace also work to protect the player from the Touch of Gold.
• Since the Great Treasure Chest spawns at the player's position, its contents can be manipulated based on where the player is when the perk is picked up.

Interactions

• The chance for Lucky Day to save the player is locked to the max (normally 75%), like all Midas damage.
• If the Curse of Greed is active at the moment that the player takes Life Lottery, the perk's effect is slightly different.
  • The number rolled must now be less than 3 to prevent death (a ²/₃ chance of death instead of the normal ¹/₂), but if the player rolls a 1, two Great Chests are spawned instead of one.
  • If the perk spawns two great chests, they will not be spawned at the same coordinates, meaning that their contents will be different.
