Saving Grace is a Perk which prevents death as long as your health is above 1.
Damage that exceeds your current health points will always leave you at 1 and blocks all damage for 60 frames (~1 second), after which the perk becomes inactive. Being healed from this point will allow the perk's effect to be triggered again.
When triggered, the message Saving Grace saved you! appears in the bottom left.
Tips
- Saving Grace is ineffective against rapid damage, as it can only take effect on individual instances of damage.
- Enemies which fire multiple shots can "bypass" Saving Grace in this way.
- Unlike the Extra Life perk, Saving Grace is reusable, and will recharge after healing above 1.
- Saving Grace cannot save you while polymorphed.
