Mod:Apotheosis/Ascension

Ascension is a unique ending method in Apotheosis which requires several steps to achieve.

The steps to achieve ascension are eluded to with various glyphs located in orb rooms around the world.

The steps are as follows:

For a full recap, the player must:

• Drop the Korruptoitunutkivi on the mountain altar to attain an Opastavakivi.
• Attain the Sampo.
• Not enter parallel worlds
• Attain the Knowledge of Kings spell.

One must have corruption purified by the gods

First to attain a Korruptoitunukivi, you must kill Kerettiläinenhirviö. This is a very dangerous boss with various ways it can kill you, the player, and it may be worth reviewing their tricks before engaging them if you're unfamiliar with what they can do.

After you get your hands on the Korruptoitunukivi, take it to the mountain altar and drop it until it's purified into an Opastavakivi.

The Opastavakivi can then be reforged on the Perk Creation Altar to gain the Divine Radar perk, which will be cruicial for locating the Divine Egg.

One must not enter lands which do not contain our salt

While it's easy to obey this restriction as you need only not visit parallel worlds, it can make other parts of the quest difficult as you will not have access to Parallel World holy mountains for additional perks and resources.

You may want to familiarize yourself with where you can attain powerful resources to use against Kerettiläinenhirviö and what lies beyond without visiting parallel worlds.

One must offer that which brings excessive wealth, and the gate will come to life

This is as simple as stealing the Sampo from Kolmisilmä.

One must hold kingly knowledge for proper ascension, lest they ruin their form

The Knowledge of Kings can be attained by filling in the Cauldron located within the Deep Portal Room.

To complete the cauldron, you'll need the 3 materials specified in the Divine Knowledge Quest, but in short you'll need to kill every boss at least once, excluding Kerettiläinenhirviö, and pour Red Sand, Insect Husk and Centipede Blood into the cauldron.

Upon filling the cauldron, you will be rewarded with the Knowledge of Kings.

Beyond

After having attained everything you need, you can now follow the Divine Radar perk which will guide you to where you need to go.

Upon reaching the Divine Egg, you will have the option to complete the key and open a portal.

Be sure to have everything you need as once you go through the portal there is no going back.

Upon entering through the portal you will enter into a series of different planes which curse the player with debilitating debuffs, such as disabling levitation or permanently removing all protective effects such as Explosive Immunity.

The Divine Radar perk will guide you on where you need to go, follow it's guiding light and you'll eventually find the next portal to follow through.

Keep pushing forward and you'll eventually reach the Empyrean.

Empyrean

Once at the Empyrean, you can achieve one of 3 endings and various Achievement Pillars.

If you've dropped or forgotten to grab the Knowledge of Kings before entering the Empyrean, you will achieve the Sheep Ending by default.

Assuming you brought the Knowledge of Kings with you, you will undergo the Ascension Ending.

However, if you've brought the Knowledge of Kings and the Heretical Eye with you to the Empyrean Altar, you will undergo the Usurper Ending.

Achieving any of these endings with reward their respective achievement pillar and display the end credits for the run, as well as special credits for Apotheosis.
