The Reflective Weirdo (in-game name Heijastava Outo) is a shining bronze creature that appears in the Temple of the Art, The Work (Sky) and very rarely the Pyramid. It has a retaliation attack but is otherwise not aggressive.

Behaviour & Combat

As the Heijastava Outo are non-aggressive, they will not attack the player on their own. However, they will follow the player to the ends of the earth if allowed to and get in the way of spells with their long hitboxes, which is where their true nature is revealed. Upon being hit with direct wand attacks they will retaliate with a copy of the projectile which hit them, potential dealing fatal damage is mere seconds. They also have a large amount of health.

Using rapid fire, low damage per hit wands against them in the open is not recommended as the retaliation attacks will chew through even large health pools in mere seconds. Against rapid strikes like this, any shields will offer very little protection. However single-projectile, hard-hitting spells are also risky to use without ambrosia or muliple layers of shielding, as they will copy any damage boosts the offending projectile receives.

As it copies all projectiles however, this can be used to the player's advantage, one such method is attacking the Heijastava Outo with a Healing bolt to have it return fire and heal the player, another method is firing a blackhole into the creature, before dealing damage to it with non-projectile means, this will cause it to spit out blackholes in random directions at high speeds, rapidly clearing the terrain around it.

Tips

  • Despite being naturally immune to being set on fire, the magical fire status effect from Mass Fire can ignite the creature, allowing for it to rapidly shoot out any desired projectile for a period of time
  • Heijastava Outo will frequently spawn in pairs and will continually ping-pong retaliation attacks against each other if one happens to shoot the other, this can make for a fun game of tennis to watch
  • Caution should be exercised when breaking Opal Crystals around Heijastava Outo, since they will copy the last projectile to hurt them, this includes giga blackholes. It's easy for all hell to break loose if a giga blackhole collides with one of these creatures.
