Infinite Gold?

Is "infinite" gold really infinite, or not? Under Trivia, this page says that having more than ~2^31 gold displays as infinity gold but "actually isn't infinite". However, the Gold To Power page says that exceeding this threshold lets you spam GtP with no drawback, implying that it is actually infinite, and the Greed page says this more explicitly. I had assumed the latter case; that Noita deals with integer overflow in your gold by making it infinite, allowing you to spend any amount of gold without running out. Once you get to 2147483135 gold or higher, it will flag that you reached "infinite" gold as a special status and continually set your gold to 2147483647 (and doesn't let you exceed that). The special status is mHasReachedInf in Documentation: WalletComponent; at least that seems to be the real driver rather than mMoneyPrevFrame. "Continually" is probably might be once per frame (at least if it happens during WalletComponent stage in Modding: Component Update Order). So you can use Gold to Power repeatedly without running out, but you still can't afford really expensive rerolls. Leaftenant (talk) 20:53, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
Noby did some testing and found with 192,000 copies of Gold To Power and "infinite" gold, money_spent was 2147483615, suggesting that the gold resetting is once per frame. Leaftenant (talk) 22:00, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
Ok, makes sense, unlimited but not infinitely large. I'm new to wiki editing; with this question answered, and a couple of updates made to reflect the answer, should I delete this talk page question thread? FZAqSD (talk) 19:29, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
No need to delete the talk thread - they provide nice context for future editors, and there's ways to archive older conversation if the page gets too long :) -flowsINtomAyHeM (talk) 09:55, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
