I've logged 25 hours of play so far, and I just saw this enemy for the first time. (I know I hadn't seen it before because it was marked as new on the progress screen.) I killed it, then in the same run, I encountered another one. One thing that's worth mentioning is that I got the "Where did all this water come from?" biome modifier in the Mines (where I saw both of them) so is it possible that that biome modifier increases the spawn rate of this enemy?
