Trick kills is a game mechanic that causes enemies who die from indirect damage to drop twice their amount of gold nuggets. In addition to this, trick kill rewards can be improved with the Trick Greed and Trick Blood Money perks.

The Pacifist-safe techniques have some overlap, but not all Pacifist-safe kills count as trick kills.

Trick Kill Methods

  1. Physics damage
    1. Using the Rock spell (Can be combined with Burst of Air to make a more accurate and reliable attack, or a Homing spell for great results)
    2. Throwing Emerald Tablets (sometimes. This is erratic because it counts as both a projectile and a physics object. See the Pacifist page for details)
    3. Any other thrown or kicked solid physics entity, such as props or loose terrain (However, physics kills directly using Telekinetic Kick will not give blood money)
  2. Environmental damage
    1. Fire damage
    2. Electric damage
    3. Material damage (for example, Acid, Poison, or Freezing Vapour)
  3. Explosive Projectile combined with most Material Spells or Summon Hollow Egg (Timer or Trigger spells are highly recommended, as this can damage you if you do not have Explosion Immunity)
  4. Touch of Spells
  5. Spells that summon an exploding entity such as Summon Rock Spirit or Unstable Crystal
  6. Projectile(Component) explosions from alternative lifetime component expiration; shooting and destroying projectiles like Pollen, Dynamite, or Bomb; or using Explosive Detonator. Downwards Bolt Bundle and Octagonal Bolt Bundle also generate trick kills from the explosion of the parent projectile, but some of the projectiles generated still result in non-trick kills. (Some other ways do not work: Spells to and Quantum Split disable the explosions of the projectiles they are "destroying", and exploding timer projectiles with Nolla Tentacle payloads still seem to generate non-trick kills.)
