Toveri (listen ) (also known as Friend) is a secret boss that looks like a large friendly green blob with legs.

Location

It can be found in the Friend Room, which is placed randomly in one of 6 locations during world generation. The Spatial Awareness perk makes it easy to find as it highlights the room's location with a green square, but it can also be found by searching through each of the 6 possible locations.

Behaviour

Initially Toveri is passive, it will follow you while spitting seeds, and performing a (friendly) melee kick once you get close enough.

Once you kill at least one Kauhuhirviö it will become a rather less friendly mini-boss, turning hostile and attacking you with a fast blue projectile. It also gains immunity to:

• Damage types:  Melee,  Suffocation,  Fire,  Explosion,  Ice, and  Electricity (it remains vulnerable to being Stunned)
• Spells: Touch of family, Venomous Curse (it remains vulnerable to  Curse damage)
• Status Effects: Polymorph

 Drill and  Holy damage are effective.

For every Kauhuhirviö killed, its total HP is multiplied by 1.5. This is cumulative, and reaches nearly 30,000 after killing just 9.  Projectile and  Slice damage taken is also reduced for each Kauhuhirviö killed (-0.1 per, maxing out at 25 buffs for -1.5× damage), as is the delay between attacks (-1 frame per, maxing out at 10 buffs for -10 frame delay).

There are 2 achievements involving Toveri:

1. Defeating the Toveri after killing 9 of the smaller Kauhuhirviö will unlock one of the Achievement Pillars.
2. Bringing Toveri to the Avarice Diamond and have it fly into the diamond will unlock the Giga Holy Bomb.
