Syväolento
Syväolento (listen ) (also known as Creature of the Deep, or Leviathan) is a boss found close to the bottom of the Lake. It spawns at the same depth as The Vault Holy Mountain, and longitude as Essence of Spirits. It will not appear in Parallel worlds.
Behaviour
Syväolento periodically fires highly damaging piercing orbs in eight directions, and also fires in your direction whenever it is damaged. It sways slowly left and right, but never moves away from the spawn location.
It has 7500 and has 100% resistance to projectile damage and most other damage types except Explosion, Slice and Melee damage types which deal 1% damage to it.
After dying it will disappear, and all water in the game will be permanently shifted into smoke for the rest of the run. It will also drop a Full Health Regeneration, a Great Treasure Chest, and a red portal leading to the Teleport Room.
Tips
- Weakening Curses work, making projectile damage wands viable and thus making the fight relatively easy. Its projectiles will damage itself so that with projectile weakening curse it will kill itself quickly. (Projectiles shoot from below the hit box.)
- Giga Black Hole works. It deals black hole damage.
- Spamming Summon Rocks at its location will cause the rocks to absorb the water, giving you an "air bubble" to fight in, e.g. if you want Stainless Armour to be active and to just tank the shots.
- Homing modifiers and Teleporting Cast will completely ignore it.
- It is immune to Venomous Curse.
- Going through the portal in NG+ runs will transport you inside the Extremely Dense Rock walls, possibly suffocating you.
- Its projectiles have unique properties, and do not trigger the Teleportitis Dodge perk. Similarly, they are not slowed or repelled by the Projectile Slower and Projectile Repulsion Field perks.
- Poison Trail works, taking it to 5% (375). Other methods of applying poison do not work.
- You can use Homebringer Teleport Bolt to move it around and set up other methods of damaging it, e.g.:
- Using Earthquake then throwing debris with Telekinetic Kick. (While it is immune to "impact"/"physics" damage from throwing regular items, it is not immune to the "crushing" damage of the Collapsed Concrete objects created by Earthquake.)
- Moving it to Cursed Rock areas, e.g., at the edges of the world.
Beta
- In beta, Holy Lance is a good way to kill it.
- In beta, Weakening Curse - Explosives is the only useful weakening curse. You can use Spells To Power and Summon Tentacle to ramp up explosion damage.
- In beta, it has projectile damage immunity. This means that the damage multiplier from projectiles (1.0 in beta) has no effect and neither do weakening curses.
