Zap Tap

Zap Tap is a passive Perk that causes the player to take no damage from nearby enemies and electrically shock them instead. Any enemies that are less than 18 pixels from the player will no longer be able to directly damage them, and will take 25 electric damage if attempting to do so.

Notes

  • Any type of damage can be reflected onto enemies - the damage type does not have to be melee. As long as the enemy is close enough to be shocked, damage will not be taken.
  • The electric damage will usually be attributed to the player and, as such, will not cause trick kills.
  • Taking multiple copies of Zap Tap will increase the damage dealt by the electric shock by 25 for each copy that the player has. This also increases Zap Tap's activation radius by 8 pixels.
  • When reflecting an attack, 25% of the damage reflected will be dealt back to the player as electric damage. This can be blocked with Electricity Immunity.

Interactions

  • Glass Cannon will cause the electric shock to do 5x damage.
  • Electricity will double the damage dealt by the electric shock.
    • This stacks with the Glass Cannon synergy, dealing 10x damage if the player has both.
    • The max damage able to be dealt by Zap Tap alone is 1,000, if the player has Electricity, Glass Cannon, and 4 copies of Zap Tap.
  • Trick Blood Money or Trick Greed will cause the shock to no longer be attributed to the player, allowing Zap Tap to synergize with them by causing trick kills.

Trivia

  • This perk is a reference to the badge of the same name from the Paper Mario series, which functions similarly here as it did as an equippable badge.
