Holding a thunder stone will make the spider passive along with other ukkoified foes, rendering it harmless and making you immune to its electricity. Zap Spideys have a near total resistance to explosion damage and heal from electric damage, making spells like Lightning Bolt quite ineffective. This is demonstrated when trying to use explosive boxes on it to kill it.
