Liekkiö (listen ) (or Fire Spirit) is a flaming, floating skull occasionally encountered in the Mines and Coal Pits.
Behavior
They follow you and try to get close for a melee attack. If hurt, they will scatter highly unstable Gunpowder all over the place, dealing low damage with many small explosions. Their gunpowder blood tends to damage the surrounding terrain, which may be useful, but can also overwhelm you if the fight occurs near flammable or explosive objects.
Combat Tips
- Keep away from anything flammable or explosive if possible while fighting.
- Their gunpowder blood is scattered quite widely and sometimes will be a little delayed in exploding, so it is wise to avoid standing on the ground for a short while after the fight concludes.
- Levitating off the ground gives the best chance at avoiding the explosions from its blood, as most of it will explode in contact with the terrain and it is otherwise somewhat difficult to avoid.
- Keep a safe distance to avoid its charge attack, it will otherwise follow fairly slowly and be relatively easy to take out.
- Fire spirits take heavy damage from Water and being Wet, so target them with Rain Cloud or Water Trail for easier kills.
- They fall quite quickly when hit with most attacks and will often not regain their composure before they hit solid ground. This can be exploited to knock them into pools of water for environmental trick kills.
Trivia
- If you Chaos Polymorph into this enemy, you will catch On fire upon returning to normal.
- Be very cautious around water while affected by Chaos Polymorph into a Fire Spirit, as it deals heavy damage.
- Polymorphine, Chaotic Polymorphine and Unstable Polymorphine have no effect on this enemy, but Circle of Transmogrification and Circle of Unstable Metamorphosis will still affect it as normal.
