Hohtonaamio (listen Audio.svg) (also known as Glowing Mask) is a rigid body–type enemy that appears in the Magical Temple and The Tower. Like other rigid body enemies, you and other creatures will collide with it, making it somewhat obtrusive to movement. Despite being relatively easy to dispatch, it can quickly deal a large amount of damage if it gets close. Its bright green eyes and noisy movement make it easy to pick out, so attacking from a distance is recommended.

Appearance

Hohtonaamio appear as a blueish-grey statue of a mask, with bright green glows trailing from their eyes. The glow, which is visible in darkness, along with the audible noise they make whenever they move, makes them easy to spot even in the darkness of the Magical Temple.

Movement

Hohtonaamio are capable of flight, and will patrol their location until encountering you or other creatures they are hostile towards. They move rather awkwardly and often bump into terrain, but will attempt to approach any creature they target.

Attacks

When close enough to a target, Hohtonaamio will begin firing radial bursts of green plasma shots at a rate of approximately twice per second for as long as the target stays within range. These bursts consist of 8 projectiles, evenly spaced around itself, that will move outwards and rotate in a counter-clockwise direction. It should be noted that being Effect invisibility.png Invisible does not prevent the Hohtonaamio from firing if you move too close, it only prevents the enemy from detecting your presence. More Love perks will similarly not stop them from attacking. This attack happens automatically via a collision trigger, which is a 60x60 box around the enemy looking for anything tagged as prey. It can trigger every 30 frames.

Trivia

This enemy used to be known as Patsas until the introduction of the new Patsas in version 1.0. At one point in time there were two separate Patsas enemies in the game at once.
