Death Cross

Death Crosses are projectile spells which spawn glowing, cross-shaped, and highly damaging projectiles that explode after a short delay. With a combination of Friendly Fire and Piercing, these spells live up to their name, quickly killing anything they come in contact with - including you.

Giga

Giga Death Cross is larger, with a more powerful explosion that produces a cross-shaped volley of secondary projectiles (that also explode). The explosions are capable of carving out a large, cross-shaped, section of terrain.

• The primary explosion deals 100.
• The 16 secondary projectiles (4 per direction) each deal 28.75 and 9.5.

Being directly struck with Giga Death Cross, even as a glancing blow to one of the arms of the giant cross, can quickly kill you even from 100.

Tips

• Caution! The Death Cross is created at the point of casting, which means that if you use it in isolation it will appear right beside you!
• The Giga version, despite being very powerful, is held back significantly by its low amount of charges.
• Even with Explosion Immunity, the Giga version can be dangerous, since the projectiles it releases can sometimes damage you if they hit directly.
• To make this spell more useful it is advisable to use a spell with a Trigger to place it for you, such as Spark Bolt.
• If paired with the homing modifiers (or Homing Shots perk) the cross will actually move and seek out enemies in the time before it explodes.
• One of the few explosive spells that doesn't include fire particles on detonation and thus won't ignite anything. This is due to the energy-based nature of the spell, which also makes it weaker against durable solid materials, but capable of destroying liquids.
• Death Cross has a homing component not mentioned in its description which only targets creatures with the prey tag - i.e. passive creatures, such as the fish found in each Holy Mountain.
  • If fired by an enemy, the homing will target you since you also have the prey tag.
• Using Freeze Charge or Electric Charge will allow the Death Cross to freeze or stun enemies that touch it.
