Meat
This article is about material. For biome, see Meat Realm. |
Meat is a category of organic materials that typically represent the corpses of creatures after they die.
Characteristics
Meat is most commonly represented as enemy corpses. Some variants can occasionally be found in some biomes, such as Rotten Meat in the Frozen vault or Cooked Meat in the Hiisi Base kitchen. Combining meat with Alchemic precursor will create Draught of Midas; any variant of meat can be used.
Spells like Chainsaw and Digging Bolt and Digging Blast can destroy meat to create more of the corpse's blood emissions.
Cooking Meat
Meat will slowly cook when exposed to burning oil, turning from lightly cooked, to cooked, to fully cooked meat. Eating fully cooked meat grants a small amount of the Greased Lightning status effect, granting increased movement speed. A kitchen will sometimes appear in the Hiisi Base that provides samples and a platform for cooking.
When you leave the area and any variant of cooking meat is unloaded, it will be replaced with Rotten Meat the next time you visit the area. One exception to this is the corpse of Suureväkäs, which remains as it was.

Variants of Meat
The status durations provided are for every 100 pixels of meat consumed. Some material may also be lost when eating off the ground, leading to a slightly lower duration than expected. For example, 100 pixels of Stinky Meat on the ground might only give as much as 150 seconds of Polymorph immunity because some of the material was lost in the eating process.
Items
Inedible materials labelled as a meat by the game. They are used to define the body of some items, but the material itself cannot be created or found.

Static Meat
This meat is used to define the Meat Realm. It will cause Poisoned and Food poisoning when ingested.
Unused meat
These meats are in the code, but don't appear to be used directly. Toxic Meat specifically is a powder that has a very rare chance of appearing as a random material potion from a Treasure Chest or Great Treasure Chest.
