Blue Fungus
Blue Fungus is a solid blue material, which is one of the main types of terrain found in the Fungal Caverns and Overgrown Cavern.
Characteristics
Blue Fungus appears as blue mats of mycelium, which when left alone will eventually produce blue fruiting bodies, however it is mainly present as a portion of the terrain in the Fungal Caverns.
The fruiting bodies of the blue fungus drop glowing fungal spores at their bases which can be collected with a Powder Pouch, after which the mushroom falls over and disappears. The spores will produce blue fruiting bodies if they are scattered on the ground which mature rapidly. As it is a static material, it cannot be ingested, unlike other kinds of fungus.
Blue Fungus is quite flammable, although its flammability is often hampered by the damp Biome Modifier that is frequently present in the Fungal Caverns and Overgrown Cavern.
The static terrain can be consumed and will give the Food poisoning debuff upon being ingested.

Trivia
- The Stalk variant is treated as a liquid by Mimicium, which rapidly converts into more of it. This is hinted at by its appearance, which can be noted to use the same effects as any other fluid.
- Unlike most fluids, it is not subject to gravity.
- The Stalk variant is also highly flammable with a reaction rate that makes it ideal as a fuse-type material.
- Despite most forms of fungus providing the
Tripping status effect, no form of Blue Fungus causes it.
