Always Cast is a perk that adds an Always Cast spell to your currently held wand.

Taking this perk is always a gamble, as many spells can be detrimental as an Always Cast. When applied to the starter bomb wand it may create a powerful rapid fire wand in early games.

Restrictions

If you pick up this perk while your wand already has 4 always cast spells on it, you will receive a message stating your wand already has too many always cast spells on it, and no benefit will be given.

If you pick up this perk with an item other than a wand in your hand, you will receive no benefit.

Spell selection

It will never give you a spell that is categorized as Multicast, Material, or Other.

Trivia

  • Prior to the 2023 bugfix patches: The perk was bugged and couldn't select spells from Static Projectile, Modifier or Utility categories like it was meant to. Instead, when one of those categories is picked, a projectile spell was added instead.
  • External tools can be used to determine what spells will be applied. Be aware that this is determined by its position on the perk altar, and is not inherent to the perk itself. This can be important if the perk is taken through Gamble.
