Prerequisites

This quest is midgame content. It is highly recommended to have wands for healing and digging. Having a decent damage wand is also recommended.

How to get the new items and spells

  1. Complete the Fish Rain event, by taking a fish to the Mountain Altar. Wand builds can be found on the Fish Rain page. After having done the quest, Summon Fish can be used to complete this step.
  2. Only one Hauen Leukaluu can be obtained per run. However, with any kind of Polymorphine you can get multiple copies to do the whole quest in one run (see Mountain Altar page for details on triggering events multiple times). Alternatively, Glitch: Entity Duplication can be used to duplicate the wand.
  3. For the first spell, simply place the Hauen Leukaluu on the Anvil and the Summon Fish spell will appear and be unlocked. The wand will be destroyed in the process.
  4. For the second spell, get the Kantele, then place the Hauen Leukaluu on the anvil. The wands will be combined to give you the Hauen Leukaluu Kantele with the Sea of Swamp spell on it. It is not necessary to drop the Kantele first: it will be removed directly from your inventory if you place the Hauen Leukaluu on the anvil. Be cautious: All spells on both wands will be lost when they are combined! Note that this does not unlock sea of swamp (which is not an Unlockable spell), but it is the easiest way to obtain it.
  5. For the third spell, travel to Master of Masters and drown him in swamp using Sea of Swamp or otherwise. A damage wand is recommended for removing his orbs, as these take a while to drown. Once he dies from the swamp he will drop and unlock Wand Homing.

Trivia

  • The quest is likely a reference to the Finnish creation myth Kalevala [1]. In the Kalevala, the grand wizard Väinämöinen built and played the bone kantele, and beat a challenger in a magical singing competition by "singing them into a swamp" from which they needed to be saved.
  • The drowning death reward is also likely a reference to when Twitch streamer LetsSufferTogether demonstrated the drowning method of killing Master of Masters
